How Taiwan manufacturers find overseas buyers
Most factories are capable; overseas buyers simply do not know them, cannot find them, or cannot tell what they make. Here are the common approaches and their limits.
Four common approaches
- Overseas trade shows
- Face-to-face contact, but costly, infrequent, and follow-up is on you.
- B2B platforms and directories
- Easy exposure, but enquiries are often price-driven and hard to qualify.
- Trading companies and agents
- Convenient, but you rarely reach end buyers or market insight directly.
- Being found through your English website
- The most durable channel. Engineers and buyers also use ChatGPT and Google AI Mode; unclear process, material and specification information makes you hard to find.
Step 1: make your website readable to overseas buyers
Check that your site states processes, materials, tolerances, capacity, prototyping and how to request a quote in English. Missing information does not mean you cannot do it — but buyers and AI search cannot tell.
Check your factory website freeStep 2: know who to talk to first
Instead of casting a wide net, focus on one product and one market, and identify buyers with recent sourcing, expansion or supplier-change activity.
